KOTA BARU: The Sultan of Kelantan, Sultan Muhammad V, today withdrew the title of Temenggong and the award of Darjah Kerabat Yang Amat Dihormati (DK) (Al-Yunusi) bestowed on Tengku Muhammad Fakhry Petra Sultan Ismail Petra, effective today.
The announcement was made by State Secretary Datuk Mohd Aiseri Alias at a news conference at his office, here, after the notification letter was handed to the staff of Istana Mahkota in Kubang Kerian, here, at 10am.
Mohd Aiseri said Sultan Muhammad V also consented to withdrawing the award, Ahli Yang Pertama (Seri Paduka) Bagi Darjah Kebesaran Mahkota Kelantan Yang Amat Mulia (S.P.M.K.) (Al-Muhammadi) which had been awarded previously.
"We have informed Yang Amat Mulia Tengku Muhammad Fakhry Petra on the matter through a letter addressed to Istana Mahkota in Kubang Kerian," he added.
Tengku Muhammad Fakhry Petra, a brother of Sultan Muhammad V, is the third child of the former Kelantan sultan, Tuanku Ismail Petra.
